It's a great beach spot! A short walk down through the forest and your right the secluded beach. It's not very long and doesn't have a a whole lot of sandy beach, so there is a potential of crowds. I had great time laying out and swimming in the lake!
Gorgeous place for a stroll. The water level is extra high this year, so no perfect area to place a towel to lay out, but you can still walk along the shore for about 2 miles heading North. :)
Beautiful beautiful senery. Friendly folks all over. Reasonable prices in most shops, even the high-end shops weren't too high. Very relaxing areas. Especially if you love water.
I Google searched "Dog Beaches Near Me" and this was the top choice. THIS IS NOT A DOG BEACH! Dogs are allowed on the grass before the entrance to the stairs to get down to the beach but not on the beach itself. Very misleading!!! Headed to Kirk Beach and Grand Haven Dog Beach instead. I gave it 3 stars because despite the fact of NO DOGS ALLOWED, it looked like a decent public beach for families.
Enjoy painting or collecting rocks? Then, this is the beach for you! A rock lovers galore! Take a bag and stroll the coast line. There are some stairs but it's not too bad to get to and from the beach. Don't let the private property signs scare you. It's legal to walk the coastline in Michigan. Take a meditative walk on the coast!
